Accuratethree-dimensional(3D)targetpositioningisofgreatimportanceinmanyindustrialapplications.Althoughvariousmethodsforreconstructing3Dinformationfromasetofimageshavebeenavailableintheliterature,fewofthempayenoughattentiontotheindispensableprocedures,suchastargetextractionfromimagesandimagecorrectionhavingstronginfluencesuponthe3Dpositioningaccuracy.Thisarticleputsforwardahigh-precisionellipsecenter(targetpoint)extractionmethodandanewimagecorrectionapproachwhichhasbeenintegratedintothe3Dreconstructionpipelinewithaconciseimplicitmodeltoaccuratelypensatesfortheimagedistortion.Themethodsareappliedtoacopyright-reservedcloserangephotogrammctricsystem.Realmeasuringexperimentsandindustrialapplicationshaveevidencedtheproposedmethods,whichcansignificantlyimprovethe3Dpositioningaccuracy.
