Gene expression profiles of human bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells and tendon cells

ObjectiveTostudythegeneexpressionprofilesofhumanbonemarrowderivedmesenchymalstemcellsandtendoncells.MethodsTotalRNAextractedfromhumanbonemarrowderivedmesenchymalstemcellsandtendoncellsunderwentreversetranscription,andtheproductswerelabeledwithα-32PdCTP.ThecDNAprobesoftotalRNAwerehybridizedtocDNAmicroarraywith1176genes,andthenthesignalswereanalyzedbyAtlasImageanalysissoftwareVersion1.01a.ResultsFifteengenesassociatedwithcellproliferationandsignaltransductionwereup-regulated,andonegenethattakespartincell-to-celladhesionwasdown-regulatedintendoncells.ConclusionThe15up-regulatedandonedown-regulatedgenesmaybebeneficialtotheorientationaldifferentiationofmesenchymalstemcellsintotendoncells.
